Wedding Photography Prints - Why bother?!

Wedding Photography Prints

In this post I am going to look at why wedding photography prints are as relevant now as they ever have been.

"But I have the digital files..."

"But I get all the images on a USB stick; I can look at the any time!" I hear you say.  Yes, that is very true, however technology changes.  In just the last few years customers devices of choice, no long have a CD/DVD drive.  This is why I provide my images on a USB.  But Flash drives will not last forever!  I advise all my clients to back up their images as soon as they receive them, as a precaution.  Although I provide high quality products, flash is notoriously bad for failing, not only that but they can get lost, or accidentally wiped!  Over time file types change.  JPEG files are the most popular choice for images at the moment, but who knows what we will be using in 20 or 30 years time!Photography is THE main thing you will have to remember your special day.  How sad would it be to not have any of those captured moments or pictures with loved ones, that trigger the emotions you felt.  I know I would be truly heartbroken, to not have that special picture with that family member who is no longer with us, or of that precious moment with my dad before the ceremony.  As a well known international photographer said to me recently "We are the most photographed generation but have the least prints to show for it."

Print products stand the test of time

Print products, be it a framed print on the wall, or an album of your favourite images, will far outlive any digital file.  I love looking back at photographs of my family from the 1800's, seeing the clothes they wore, and getting an idea of what life might have been like for them.  Imagine in years to come, your descendants can say "This is a picture of my great-grandma on her wedding day."  Your prints will be part of social history, that will live on, and you will be remembered. But thinking about the here and now, it's great to have something physical to keep from your wedding day.  You have, most likely spent, a lot of money on your wedding day, so why wouldn't you want to remember it every day?!  To have that signature image upon the wall that you and guests to your home, see every time you/they enter the room.  If you don't want to be pinned down to one or two images, that a large print would provide, why not invest in something like our 10 square print box.  With various frame options, it offers versatility to display up to 9 images, that you can chop and change at will.  You can display any combination of 24 of your favourite images to fit your mood! The most popular way to display your wedding images is to have them printed in an album.  This option keeps your images together in one safe and special place.  It's lovely to be able to to sit down with a cuppa, flick through your album and relive the story of your wedding day, but now and in many years to come.
