Being you in a place you love
It doesn’t matter if you feel most at home in the town, on a beach or in a forest, with a lifestyle portrait experience you get to pick your location. I use elements of the local environment as a backdrop and to enhance your images.
So you like the idea of a location shoot…
But how does it work?
Book your shoot
Once you decide you’d like to book a lifestyle shoot with me, send me a message via my contact form. I will then contact you to book a date and discuss your choice of location. If you are unsure where you’d like your shoot to be then I can make lots of suggestions in the local area depending whether you prefer town, woodland or beach setting.
before your shoot
In the run up to the shoot, you will receive tips and useful information for your shoot, such as a brochure with ideas on what to wear, coordinating your outfit colours, what feel you’d like the finished images to have - relaxed, formal, themed. etc.
Weather check & confirmation
As most lifestyle shoots take place outside, a day or two before the shoot I will check the weather forecast and confirm details with you. If it looks like the weather will be appalling, then we can reschedule if necessary or relocate the shoot to my studio.
the shoot
On shoot day, we meet at the agreed location, have a chat and get to know each other a bit. We will hang out together for approx 1 hour, but it will be very relaxed and we will stay as long as needed to get a good selection of shots. I will direct you to try different poses and we will use different places around your chosen location. I might utilise different location elements such as natural lighting, rocks, logs, park benches or architectural elements to enhance the images.
after the shoot
After the shoot your images will be edited and backed up and you will be invited to attend the studio for a viewing session. This will usually be a week after the shoot.
your viewing
At the viewing I will show you a slideshow of your images, giving you chance to relive the fun we had at the shoot. I will demonstrate how to access your online gallery, and make sure you know how to navigate your way around it. You will have an opportunity to see products that I am able to provide and make an order, should you wish to do so.
making an order
I certainly don’t believe in pressure selling, having experienced it myself some years ago at a photography studio! However I will be on hand to guide you through various options of wall art and printed products that I can supply, should you wish to see them and make an order. If you’d rather go home and think about your options then that’s fine too. Once you have decided on which sizes and images you would like to have printed, and payment has been received, then I will place your order with my professional print lab. Delivery varies from a few days to 2-3 weeks depending on which products have been ordered. Once your products have arrived, I will arrange a collection or delivery date for you.
That leaves nothing more than for you to sit back and enjoy looking at your chosen images around your home, every day!
