Who is behind EBM Photography?

Meet Emma, Award-Winning Lead Photographer at EBM Photography

“Hello! I’m Emma, originally from Bristol, I now live in Fife, Worcester with my husband, Chris and our old son, Nicholas.

I received my first DSLR, a Nikon D3100, as a 30th birthday present, then signed up on a beginners photography course at my local college.

Having been asked to take photographs at a friend’s daughter’s wedding I asked a fellow photographer if I could shadow him on one of his weddings and from there I upgraded my equipment and became his second shooter, as well as working weddings independently.

I love creative images. I like light & dark, colour & mono, and shooting a whole host of different subjects, although I primarily photograph people. You can see some of these on various social media platforms such as Facebook or Instagram.

I have mostly focused on weddings, and won multiple awards for my images. In 2017 I had the opportunity to open a portrait studio in Leven. This has opened up a new possibilities for me, and given me chance to perfect new skill sets. In 2020, I made the difficult decision to focus on portrait photography full time, and move away from the wedding industry.

I still love weddings and you will find lots of wedding tips on my blog, some things I used when I got married, others I have picked up at all the weddings I have been to. I have collaborated with various suppliers to give my brides and grooms useful information to help with planning their day.

The blog also has tips for portrait shoots, be it family or commercial, as well as some photography tips that you can use at home.

So what do I like to do when I’m not behind the camera? Well, these days when I am not working, I am spending time with my toddler! I always have a craft project on the go, be it a piece of art work, sewing, knitting or crochet. When I get the chance I like to read and am always striving to learn new things! It has to be said that since our son was born, I don't have time for my previous hobbies of ballroom dancing, archery or scuba-diving, but I hope to get back to them someday.”

Photographs are a form of time travel. You can relive happy memories whenever you choose.
