Weddings are wonderfully exciting days, and usually everything goes to plan.  However, there are some things that you may not have thought about during the planning.  This post looks at 5 things to be aware of on your wedding day.

Tip 1 - Real Flowers can stain

Be sure to talk to your florist about the flowers being used.  Some flowers can leave marks on your dress, such as the stemens of lilies.  Also be aware that dried petals used as confetti may also stain your dress - this happened to the inside of my dress, where petals fell inside, I got hot in the lovely sunshine, and the colour leached out into the dress.  Thankfully it was just on the inside.

Tip 2 - Bubbles can aggravate skin conditions

Wedding Confetti Tips

Everyone loves bubbles, especially children!  But be sure to check that your bubbles won’t leave nasty soapy marks on your dress. Also if you are using them for confetti type shots, check that you don’t have any allergies to the product used.

Tip 3 - Confetti Cannons make a mess

Confetti cannons can create amazing confetti pictures, but they do make a mess!  Check with your venue that they allow paper confetti, or if this needs to be cleaned up after the ceremony.  Maybe opt for a biodegradable option.

Tip 4 - Balloons might be restricted

If you are planning a balloon or lantern release, you may need to apply for permission, as large balloon releases can pose a threat to aircraft. You can find out more and apply for permisson from the Cival Aviation Authority here

Tip 5 - Drone pilots must have a valid licence

Drones have become fashionable over the last couple of years. If you decide you would like to have drone footage at your wedding, make sure that you hire a professional who have undergone the relevant training, and has the correct licence.  It is illegal to fly certain drones without these.
