Wedding Tips - Decorations for chairs
To decorate your venue or not? Most couples have some form of decoration in their venue, be it covers on chairs or decorations on tables. Chair covers were something that I would have liked to have had at our wedding, but we couldn't afford everything. (See my previous post about wedding budgets here.) We were also lucky enough that the chair colours fitted with our theme quite well. However covering chairs at your venue, either for the ceremony or for the whole day can bring the look and feel of your wedding together. I will hand over to Kerry-Anne Walker, from Ti Amo, an event decor company based in Cupar, Fife, who has written a guest post for me. Ti Amo has a great range of unique and elegant ideas for decorating your venue with things such as covers for chairs and table decorations. I especially love her unique draped back chair covers (see photo below).
Guest Blog Post - Ti Amo
"I LOVE weddings!! I get so excited when someone gets engaged, and a little jealous that mine is over, as trust me I would do it all again if I could. To the same man of course 😉
For years I worked in the industry, doing 2 or 3 weddings a week. I noticed the gradual change in decor and the changes in trends as they occurred and would get bored of seeing the norm. I would love it when a couple changed things up. After being made redundant I had no doubts about what I wanted to do, so I took the jump into setting up on my own. It made sense to do something I am passionate about. And so in October 2015 Ti Amo was born.
I decided that I wanted to offer something a little more unique and different to the standard white cover and organza bow for chairs, and while I still offer these I always introduce couples to other options based on what they have told me about their day. Whether it's a different material for the sash, tying it a different way or something completely different such as draped backs, organza ruffled hoods or lace caps.
Chair embellishments, from the ceremony to the reception, are now so much more than a disguise of ugly or shabby venue chairs. It's now about accentuating your venue and theme. Some think that the chairs don't matter, but they actually have a really high impact. When you think that chairs are one of the first things you notice in a room, especially when you consider people are looking for their seat! Any embellishment completes your overall design concept. And with so many venues now investing in gorgeous chairs such as the chiavari, there are so many more options.Ti Amo is based in Cupar, Fife and we cover the areas of Fife, Dundee Tayside, North Lothians and our prices for chair decor start at £2.00 per chair to include, delivery, set up, collection and laundering.”
Kerry-anne's Tips for Choosing your Chair Decore
Consider first of all the chairs, do they need fully covered? If so does it need to be white or can you start with a colour?
Your venue - If you have chosen a barn, will a full chair cover with organza bow be suitable?
What's your theme? Your chairs don't have to incorporate your colour scheme. Why not use them to accentuate a theme or setting instead.
Think different, set new trends, don't just go with what you have seen at every other wedding.
