WE WON!

This week has been hectic!  Monday night my husband Chris and I attended the Scottish Wedding Awards ceremony at the Crowne Plaza in Glasgow.  What a night!  There were exotic dancers, the host was Scottish radio presenter Gina Mackie and around 600 attendees from the wedding industry.

A night of awards

With 21 awards to get through it was a long evening, but good fun too.  Our table did well, winning Jeweler of the Year as well as my award, which was announced in the second half of the evening, after a delicious 3 course meal.The Photographer of the Year category was split into regions, North, Central, Glasgow, South East and South West. I was in the Central region. Each region had 5 finalists from all the photographers that had been nominated by their client.  As a finalist I had to submit samples of my work and testimonials from my clients, then a panel of independent judges chose the winner.  ME!I couldn't believe it when they announced EBM Photography had won.  You can see me collecting my certificate on this Facebook video.I also did this Facebook Live right after coming off stage.It was an amazing night.  I have to say a big THANK YOU to all the people who nominated me, to all the clients who kindly provided glowing testimonials for me to submit and of course for choosing me to shoot their weddings!  I also want to thank Chris for all his support over the least few years in business.  He had to put up with me on those days when I'm overwhelmed and lost, unable to see a way forward and ready to jack it all in.  I'm so glad he got to come with me to see a happy me and share in my success!
