Daman Mahal Music Video Shoot, Scotland

Wow, busy couple of days! I was asked if I could do some behind the scenes shots for a music video by Bollywood singer Daman Mahal, that was being shot in Fife.The shooting took pace over two consecutive days, primarily in Culross, but also in Edinburgh and Inverkeithing. Unfortunately the weather was horrible, every time shooting began it started to rain! We all got rather cold and wet. Sonya, who I did a portrait shoot with back last summer was the 'love interest' in the music video. She had to go through full hair and make-up (done by Robyne) before filming started.There were two camera men, Steve from Wolverhampton, who was directing, and Jaswinder who had travelled over from Italy for the shoot. These guys shot two cameras at once to get different angles of the same scene.It took a few takes to get the shots that were needed, a couple of walk throughs, then...action! Some scenes had Daman lip-sync the song, others were story telling scenes with him and Sonya.Once we lost the light at the end of day one, we headed to the Elgin Inn, where they kindly let us shoot a scene in their restaurant. On day two, following more shooting in Culross, we went to to the home of SNP Fife Councillor Alice McGarry, who let us use her home as a set. It's not everyday you get your dining room used in a music video!
